Captain Jason Wiltshire is a Chartered Master Mariner with 25 years of experience across the maritime profession, spanning command of large passenger vessels, harbour master and port management responsibilities, expert witness practice, and government engagement. He is a first-class pilot in the Bristol Channel, South West UK.
As Vice Chair and Director of Operations of the United Kingdom Maritime Pilots' Association (UKMPA), Jason has led vital work spanning pilot safety, welfare, professional standards, and regulatory advocacy - combining practical delivery with experience of engaging government and international bodies on behalf of the profession.
His background reflects a career spent at every level of maritime and port operations, with a consistent focus on advancing the interests of pilots and the public they serve.
Jason was elected Vice President at the General Assembly in Bali, Indonesia, in 2026. He is committed to advancing pilot safety and welfare, strengthening professional standards, and ensuring that every member association - large or small, established or emerging - benefits fully from IMPA's role as the recognised international authority on pilotage.
